I took this photo in our garden. We get lots of Speckled Wood butterflies (Pararge aegeria) because of the woodland type area we have in the bottom of the garden. I've seen them drink from rotting fallen apples and from small flowers. The caterpillars are small and green and live on types of grass so I don't often see them. I think they are a beautiful little butterflies and am glad we see them so often!
